Adding video category to gallery

I’ve got a video link and I’d like to have it available on my gallery page which uses portfolios. Simply pasting the video url and checking the video category did not allow the video to be visible and able to be played on my gallery page.

Can anyone provide some detailed instructions on how to take a video url and make it available to be played via my gallery webpage?
