Changing the color of the asterisk

My form is on a black background and the red asterisk for the required fields is very difficult to see. How to I change that red to white?

I had already tried doing exactly that, but the change didn’t show up. It’s still red.

I found and fixed the problem. I was using the same code, but with a red asterisk, on another page. It was one of those “DOH!” moments.
