Data not being passed to notification email

I have an inquiry form that has this html element: This message/comment is about: {post|post_title}

On screen, for a post titled “Lost in a book” the person completing the form sees: This message/comment is about: LOST IN A BOOK.

When I receive the email notification I see: This message/comment is about:

In the element data field, I have checked the “Show in email” and “Show in entry” boxes. The post title doesn’t appear in either place.

I’m not sure how to get this fixed. Thanks,
