Date Field with Month and Year Only

How do I create a date field that shows a selection for month and year only? The user is submitting data (hours volunteered) during the last month and needs to specify just the month and year.

I already opted for the solution with two drop-down menus but was hoping that there might be something better that I overlooked. 🙂
