Saving fields and default value

Dear Ally,
Your help had been very important, thanks a lot for your support.
With the option of save the field values in my own table, I have 2 questions:
1) Have problems saving date – just save 0000-00-00 and with dropdwon menus, I configure the field with the “set” type instead of ‘enum’ and just save the first option, eventhough I choose 4 and all of them are included in the field configuration.
2) I am populating the dropdown menu but I don´t know how to set the selected value dinamically.

I am using the database area in the form configuration.
1) The date is still saving 0000-00-00
2) How I can get the name and the last name separately
