Setting up a portfolio

I want to set up a Full Screen, 4 Column portfolio as demonstrated in the demo. I have followed the directions described in the “help” section, but nothing seems to work. First, I absolutely cannot get the portfolio thumbnails arranged in any columns or pattern. Second, after I upload the images into my “portfolio” I cannot create a page from it. I need help from start to finish!!!

Thanks Ally. I am having two problems now:

1) The thumbnail of the “featured image” that is displayed on my “portfolio” page is not consistently showing. Some images show the thumbnail correctly, others just show a small white box. There is no apparent difference in the way I set up these portfolio items.

3) When you view my portfolio items in single view mode – i.e. after clicking the “read more” link – the images are all running off of the page. I would like to set up a column left page view, with the photo displayed on the right – BUT, I want the image to be scaled such that it fits on the page. As I said, the image is way to big at the moment and running off the page.
