Stop erasing entered form data when Required field is missing

I have a huge long form and when i test it out if I forget to fill out required forms It prompts me to fill those out (jumps to that section) but then it erases a lot of the already filled out fields, it is very frustrating as it takes forever to refill out everything. Any ideas?
