Updating server database

I have a form that updates form entries into a database. I have a link on the back end to edit each entry through the wordpress plugin. Is there an easy way through the plugin to update the database entry when a change is made? Just wondering before I implement my own fix. Great plugin, saves me a bunch of time and looks great.
