The HTML element lets you add text, headings, images, links, or other HTML content to your form. Use it for instructions or information that users should read while completing the form.

Adding HTML content

Add an HTML element to the form, then open its settings.

Enter your content in the HTML setting. Use the visual editor to format the content, or switch to the text editor to enter HTML directly.

Basic

Label

Sets the label used to identify the element in the form builder. This label is not displayed in the form.

HTML

Sets the content displayed in the form. You can enter plain text or HTML, use the visual editor, and include WordPress shortcodes.

You can also insert a variable using the code icon beside the editor.

Auto formatting

Converts line breaks in the content into HTML line breaks. Enable this when entering plain text that should retain its line breaks. Leave it disabled if your HTML already controls the spacing.

Styles

Custom CSS class

Add a custom CSS class to the element wrapper, or multiple classes separated by a space.

CSS styles

Add custom CSS styles to parts of the element by clicking Add a style, choosing the selector, and entering the CSS into the box.

Logic

Enable conditional logic

Enable or disable conditional logic for the element. This allows you to display different instructions or information based on values entered elsewhere in the form.

Logic rules

Choose whether to show or hide the element when all or any of the rules match. Click Add logic rule, then choose the element, operator, and value for each rule.

Data

Show in email

If enabled, the element’s content is included in the default notification email. This setting is disabled by default.

Plain text content

If Show in email is enabled, you can enter alternative content for plain text notification emails. Use this to provide a readable version of content that relies on HTML formatting.

Show in entry

If enabled, the element’s content is displayed when viewing an entry. This setting is disabled by default.

Advanced

Unique ID

The unique element identifier is displayed here. You may need this for advanced usage.

Visibility

Sets the element to be visible to Everyone, Logged in users only, or Logged out users only. Choose Admin only to make it available only in the admin area. Enable Show in entry if you want its content displayed when viewing an entry.
