Data
Autocomplete
Sets the HTML autocomplete attribute to help browsers and password managers fill in the field. Use new-password when creating a password, or current-password when entering an existing password.
Maximum length
Sets the maximum allowed length of the submitted value. The browser limits how many characters the user can enter, and the value is also validated on the server. Change the error message on the Translations tab.
Show in email
If enabled, the submitted value is included in the default notification email. This setting is disabled by default.
Save to database
If enabled, the submitted value is saved to the database and shown when viewing an entry. This setting is disabled by default.
The Password element masks text on screen; it does not hash the value saved in an entry or included in an email. Keep these settings disabled when collecting account passwords.

To add a second field that must match the password, see the Confirm password field guide.
Translations
Translate the text of relevant validation messages here. The available settings depend on how the element is configured.
