Insert and Update form

I am totally new to Quforms and I was thinking if it is possible to do this:
How to create a form and save data in a custom database is clearly explained
But I am wandering how to use this form also for retrieving and editing existing records, based on some unique ID.

Have found the solution in post 31030.
The second suggested method works great.
